I don't usually do this (some call it "pimping the comments") but what activities are your children in? Plus their ages and why you (and the kids) choose those activities?

I'm trying to get a feel for what's normal. Zach just joined Tiger Cubs (Boy Scouts) and is signed up for ice hockey for fall/winter. I'm currently looking for a Brownie troop (Daisies?) for Em and Ally and I'll sign them up for a YMCA fall soccer league next week. As much as my sister-in-law and I loved dance as children, the twins aren't interested. *sigh*

And my other issue... We're still planning to move out of the area next year. I hate the idea of getting involved with activities here just to leave all their newly made friends next year. But it also doesn't make sense to keep them out of everything this year just because we plan to move. Which is why when the Girl Scout coordinator said "oh, maybe we'll start a new troop in your area!" I kept my mouth shut and didn't volunteer to be the leader (which I'd love to do). I hate limbo land.
