140.6!

Brought to you by eDiets.com Last week during my blogging break I actually went back up to 143. *sigh* So I knew I wasn't going to be able to lose and maintain weight loss without some backup. So for $15 a month, I figured this was my best bet. Especially after my gym tried to talk me into a $100 an hour nutritionist. Eek!

eDiets is pretty good. They plan your menus to your likes (me: no red meat, no soy, no egg substitutes) and you can change the meals out (hundreds of choices). Pretty much for me they planned a 300 calorie breakfast, 400 calorie lunch and dinner, and a 200 calorie snack, all relatively low fat, decent in protein and carbs. I'm suppose to average 1200-1300 calories a day for weight loss in case you didn't want to do the math. The recipes are quick and easy (or you can have more convenience type foods, there are a ton of options!) and it hasn't been too hard to stick to their plan at all. I really like their nutrition tracker, I remember seeing something like it at Weight Watchers when Greg was a member but eDiets is easier. You can save favorite foods, move meals from day to day, and it breaks down each meal into its nutritional information plus totaling the entire day. With a little bit of fudging, (like leaving out cheese, taking a smaller serving of bread/pasta) I can fit one 170 calorie 12 ounce Mountain Dew into my day. Woot!

I also signed up under the Bob Greene plan so I receive exercise suggestions. So far they've been things like "Walk at least 5 minutes today" or "Do these stretches 3 times daily". These week (my second with the program) I have sets of crunches to do.

I've been enjoying my time at the gym. They offer 2 hours of free child care daily that the kids love. In fact the Big 3 are usually upset if we go during school hours and they don't get to go. I'm trying not to think of the possible germ fest the place is but hey, 25 minutes on a elliptical trainer without kid interruptions is worth it. (Remind me of that when the kids catch a stomach flu bug from there, would ya?) They have all sorts of cool weight machines but I need to "hire" a personal trainer to go through those. I like the gym, I hate paying for everything "extra" that seems like it should already be included.

If I stay on target, I should be 128 pounds on April 20th. How cool would that be? As an added bonus when I reach 135 pounds, I'm buying an iPod NaNo (probably the new 1 gig). When I reach 128 pounds, watch out mall, I'm buying a new spring/summer wardrobe! (Greg, consider this your budget warning. *winks*)

Advertisement: If you want to try eDiets.com, I can send you a referral email. I'm not sure if you'll get a cheaper rate but I'll receive $20. Which is 1/8th of my iPod. hehe
