Kelly

Yesterday at about 2:30pm, Kelly stuck a pink pony bead up her nose. Why? I don't know, 4 year olds still don't make a lot of sense.

After a few attempts to get it out on my own and about 8 phone calls to the ped's office and 4 local ENT's (ear, nose, and throat specialists) and no one could see her that day, I had decided the ER was going to have to be the answer. So Greg came home early from work to watch the other 4. (Thank goodness because 5 kids at the ER is something I have not tried and hope to never do.) As soon as Greg walked in the door, he helped her blow it out on her own after 3 tries. I did try that! She had actually "sniffed" it in further in her attempts to blow it out for me. *grumbles*

So Greg's dubbing it "The Day I Left Work Early to Help Kelly Blow Her Nose."

These kids...

I swear I should have stopped with Zach but he had some bizarre school project yesterday that required wrapping a shoe box in red and white furry fabric to resemble an Australian Dingo. So as soon as Kelly blew out the bead, we went to the fabric store. Which was all fine and dandy until we were driving home and were stuck in traffic for half an hour 2 miles from our house because of an accident.

7 cop cars, 1 ambulance, 1 fire truck, and a helicopter were on the scene (although technically the helicopter never landed and I think it was just a local traffic watcher one). So I was prepared to tell the kids to cover their eyes as we passed because with that many people on the scene it had to be bad. Instead it turned out some lady ran her mini-van into the guard rail. The hold-up was because she seemed to be carrying a small office building's worth of paper work that was now covering 2 of the 3 lanes of traffic and had to be picked up.

The Murphy's seem out to get me again.
