The view from my front door:
I'm not doing so well this morning. I think having random people in the house for 4 days is wearing on me. Remind me not to do any huge home remodeling projects that involve hired help (ie. not DIY) any time soon.
And also? The kids have completely lost their ability to hear me. It was a so-so skill in the first place but I'm really tired of repeating myself. Zach's book was packed because he didn't hear me say no less than 5 times "put anything you want to keep this week in this box." I had a box in each of the kids' rooms that they had to trip over to exit their rooms so it wasn't like the box was hidden in the back of the linen closet or anything. This morning the twins didn't hear me say 4 times "please put your sleeping bags and pjs in the dining room." Granted in the 3 years we've lived here they've never exactly known which room was the dining room (seriously I wish I was making this up, I'd say "put that on the dining room table" and they'd say "where's the dining room?") so maybe I shouldn't be too hard on them.
Today's the last day of loading, they have the kids' bunk beds, my bed, treadmill, the kitchen table, and a few things left in the basement to put on the truck. They should be out of here within the hour and then I have to clean. Actually I should go to Kyle's kindergarten picnic seeing I'm the room mom but someone else took this day over since I knew I probably wouldn't be able to make it. Occasionally I remember to say "no" and not overextend myself. We'll just ignore the fact that somehow I'm helping at two class picnics at the same time on Friday.
