Week 3, June 26-30

Breakfast for Dinner: PJ's are optional! I love this one and my kids get a kick out of eating *gasp* breakfast foods for dinner. You can be as simple as cereal and milk or as fancy as pancakes in the shape of their intials (Z's are tricky...) Pass the syrup!

Paper Airplanes: You know I've given up on buying one little package of printer paper every week and now purchase a couple of reams at Staples. Here's the day I break out a new box. I like to make the traditional long style airplane but I found a couple of websites with more so you can mix up your folding techniques. Let the kids color their planes (pencil or marker work best, the crayon wax adds weight), have races, decide which design flies the best, and have fun! Paper Airplanes 1 and Paper Airplanes 2

Give a Neighbor a Flower: Or any other person in your life like a daycare provider, good friend, the bank teller, etc. Kids naturally love to give and I think it's important to foster this. Here's a huge list of flowers and their meanings just for fun.

No TV Day (computer, videogames, etc...): Ha, I'm cheating, we're going to be out of the house for 8 hours this day! I promise to do this for a full day another week though. Simple concept: pull the plug on certain electronic devices. Instead figure out all the fun things you can do like go to the park, read a book, run through the sprinkler. Man, I'm going to miss my iPod.

Sugar Cookies: Yummy! I'm going to buy the pre-made type with a tub o' icing and lots of sprinkles to decorate. Friday is the perfect day to give the kids a sugar high!

I'm one of those people who always says "it would be awesome if we did this" or "we should totally do that!" and then when it comes to the actual doing, nothing ever happens. But this year will be different! I have a list! more info...
