Week 5, July 10-14
Dirt Pudding: My favorite (and easiest) version is vanilla or chocolate pudding in individual bowls with crushed Oreos on top. Or google "dirt pudding recipe" and find another. Don't forget the gummy worms!
Full Moon Stay up a little later tonight and check out this month's full moon. Here's a bunch of fun info from Wikipedia. Like the saying "Once in a Blue Moon"? The next one will happen in June 2007 (two full moons in one calendar month).
History of your Town: It's the middle of summer, time for some learning! Find out the history of your town. If you live some place big and famous (New York City, LA, Chicago), there will be whole books written about this. But if you are in Small Town, USA like where I grew up, the search can be a little more tricky. Check out your local library, the librarians love to help with this kind of thing (especially since most of their fact finding skills are being replaced by ahem, the internet). Or google your town name. Then find an old historical landmark and visit it. Courthouses, memorials, old houses, and cemeteries are all great examples.
Design a T-Shirt: Tie dye, fabric paint, iron-on transfers, puffy paint, markers, the sky's the limit. Buy white pre-shrunk cotton t-shirts and then follow the directions for whatever method you chose. For everything besides tie dye, make sure to use a piece of cardboard inside the shirt to prevent the design from bleeding onto the back. Don't forget to make one for yourself!
Lemondade Stand! 25 cents! Who can resist a cute kid selling lemonade along side the road? Mix up several batches, add lots of ice, set up a table, and let the kids decorate a sign. "Free Lemonade" is always nice but if you'd like to donate the proceeds to a charitable cause, check out Alex's Lemonade Stand.

I'm one of those people who always says "it would be awesome if we did this" or "we should totally do that!" and then when it comes to the actual doing, nothing ever happens. But this year will be different! I have a list! more info...
